Hybrid vs Innerspring Mattress

The boundary between “hybrid” and “innerspring” is not always clean. Both can use coil support cores; hybrids usually emphasize a more substantial comfort system above those coils.

The practical difference

Rather than obsessing over labels, compare the actual thickness and type of comfort materials, coil system, firmness and edge construction.

Feel

A thinner-comfort-layer innerspring may feel more directly springy, while a hybrid with thicker foam can provide more contouring. Designs vary.

Cooling

Both can benefit from airflow through the coil core, but upper foams, covers and room conditions also affect temperature.

Which is better?

Neither category is universally better. Choose based on preferred feel and specific construction.
